I thought it was pretty great that the NYTimes published this. The most impressive fact (to me) quoted was that if Americans ate just 20% less meat, it would be the equivalent of everyone switching from a four-door Sedan to a Prius. Crazy.

I love when papers like the NYTimes publish stories like this that are so unlike the general American taste. It would have been interesting if they made mention of the vast amounts of methane produced from raising cattle.

Well they talk about general “greenhouse gas production” and the methane would just be included in that.
If we took everyone who loved a good steak or bruger to a commercial slaughterhouse they would be much less inclined to dine.
